ITALIAN QUAKES Gibellina and other diseases, 2016

Every earthquake has two peak moments: the post-event ruins, and reconstruction. This book is a platform of paradigmatic discussion. The project is purposely composite. The title ITALIAN QUAKES, Gibellina and other diseases, refers to several Italian earthquakes, Gibellina and other dysfunctions. I have integrated images of five Italian earthquakes, Noto (the only city rebuilt in the 18th century with a baroque town plan), Naples, Gibellina, L’ Aquila and Emilia, with images of moments in which a place has undergone a violent shock which marked it considerably. As happened with the economic crises in Detroit and in Braddock PA, hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and the inhabited archaeological excavations in Catania.

Adriatic Sea (staged) Dancing People, is a project in which I realize images which portray the truth of remembrance.
Definitely memories are the only objective truth in our possession.
All is real, the landscape, the choreography and the people are true.
The blue I used is the paradigmatic blue that we see in our mind when we remember a day at the beach.
This dance on the beach is a manifestation of the genius loci of those places.
In Rimini but also in the entire Romagna region the folk dance ( liscio ) is extremely popular and historically regarded by old and new generation.
The big disco clubs still stand out like cathedrals in the desert.
The dance as a liberating ritual on the blue of the sea, like in a Matisse painting.
Peraphs to remove or avoid the painful images of multiple illegal deadly landings in the Mediterranean surrounding areas.
